  During R13 I tried the strategy for us to nuke and use sats for the first time. The clan had previously, in my round out in NTC, used sats quite successfully at high NW so wanted to try it again.

  The issue we found was obvious though, we got nightraided on 2 occasions and we had just too much dead NW. So we were literally dead as a result, we could not drop out of range of clans with decent BK armies and we failed.

  In the end we completely lost desire to try during R13 hence finishing in 4th, which was our lowest ever finish in a round we tried anything.

  For Round 14 then, I knew what I wanted to try. Combining the end of R12 sat and nuke flurry with a traditional strategy. As such as we decided to merge two strategies.

  The first is what I would call the “MW approach”, stay super low and aim for very very high activity, supplemented with quite low losses due to a small overall army. This meant scoring 4-7ppa on average and this is how we started.

  We had always planned to do this until there were “enough” NW clans to destroy, and then to use the bonuses we were earning to perform the research and switch strategy.

  With 10 days to go, we were at I think 8000 points or so, and nearly 4k behind demons. With this bonus, 3 of us performed the nuke research, and all 6 of us satellite research.

  We declared a clan with 3 700k or so players and that day scored about 1300 points and earned another bonus. We then simply kept this up.

  I personally moved to nuking full time as we found it was above 500k basically a guaranteed 25p so long as the other 3 could get the power out. Eric was also nuking full time. Wouter, and Javi both kept things much more fluid, keeping a couple moabs or chem on hand but primarily using their armies …

  After 3 days of this strategy the gap was 2k points only and we know we had a shot to win. Furthermore, Elvis had managed a 53k attack using Seahawks against a pure GI target I think it was, and I had climbed into top 10 MoH

  The decision was made to keep going through NW topclans one by one, and we went from 15th place up to basically 4th. For most of the bottom half we had to go on 3-4 man clans, as even in the top10 there were many points clans. There was not that much serious NW competition to be honest, outside of the top 4.

  Our penultimate “drop boost war” was against the Nukebuns. Famous for wiping our entire clan the previous round this was the first major risk. However, we got a bit lucky here. Speaking to aka it turns out they were already in mutual with MW, and had just wiped most of them, when we declared them. They were all about 500k and we declared at the same size. One of the guys tried to outboost me to save himself, buying pure GI and AMS to do it. Using 2 stored bonuses from the previous days I was able to turnboost and break the range, scoring with units for nearly my last time in the round, but getting a whole bunch of 18+ppa unit attacks for 20%. The guy after one full raid sold everything, and then sat with about 30 buildings for the kill. This strategy was just to restrict our points. I do not blame him but it did set us back 12h as we were floudering for targets and not yet ready to take on any big big clans resource wise.

  But regardless, We finally got to within 1k of Demons and had the choice to make, which “top” clan would we go on. We had to take a risk. We decided to go on Ducky’s clan The Revolution in the end. Limbo, Ducky and M0riphus were all set up incredibly well but the other 3 were very weak relatively.

  We planned the raid, declared, and got rather a lot of hatred via PM and Discord for this one. However, it led to the day we got 2100p in a single day. The luck here was with Limbo. He boosted, we knew he would – and it was quite huge. Another 500k on top of his already 700 or so. Elvis was able to break the range, but this is where we got even more lucky.
  Limbo, who ordered all those GI and could kill 150+ builds per attack, just plain didn’t login when his order arrived.

  ..For 4 hours or more!

  We wiped 5.5k GI from him for free as his power was off, which as I say led to this huge huge points score day.

  Once we had finished with the Duckies, we had seen that Demons were high. We expected a nightraid but it didn’t come. We don’t know who they were warring then, but assuming their full boost was to the 400-450k they were at, we raided them. We hit Gladiator and TKE who were their biggest, forcing them to sell.

  We waited all day for the counter which never came. And when Demons decided to try and raid me in the afternoon, my final piece of great luck came in. I had been AFK for about 4 hours at work, super super busy, but, 10seconds before their first local: I was back at my machine. As I noticed 1 local event, then 2, then 4, I was already on Desktop looking at the build screen. I was literally choosing to buy and fill my land when they started to hit me. At that point I only had one bonus unclaimed, nukes are damn expensive, but I grabbed it quick and built through the 14 locals and survived.

  1 hour later Demon contacted me to concede Gold in the points race, and we had done it. We had gained 6k points more relative to Demons in the space of 10days and broken a 1k lead for the first time.

  Which led me to my final goal..

  Through these 10 days my MoH position kept rising. Many will know that I have tried for this medal on no less than 5 previous occasions. By Monday I was 3rd as we were raiding Demons. By Tuesday I was second, which told me I had overtaken someone in Demons now. But who was first ??

  Luckily it was easy to spot Mr Team Finland! When a one man clan has more clanpoints than I do, there can be no other explanation. So I finally did something I’m a bit ashamed to admit. Besides for allowing Elvis back in I mean.

  Knowing we had the gold, I got my whole clan to order anti him and raid him. After 2 raids, he reset and messaged me to concede it. He had scored 300p in a single day on that Tuesday and I had started the day 100 points down on him.

  But our final war with Nukezone Legends gave me 2 guaranteed 25ppa targets – so whilst my clan was hitting him, I kept going on them. I managed to score 500p in the day in total by myself with 30% nukes all day and the sat eah 5h, including night attacks which most know I simply never do..

  So I got it. I feel bad for schrutt and I am trying to get him into a good points clan for next round. The guy did amazingly well in a solo clan, it’s quite incredible. And it took my whole clan to stop him in the end.

  So we came from being 4k down in points and not even top20 of MoH, to winning both. Elvis got his customary “Where the fuck did all that money come from, probably his gf or sister” MoDeva too. Scumbag.

  Without a doubt this strategy, the way it played out and this round is my proudest ever AO achievement. Infact I think it’s my proudest ever NZ community achievement full stop. I hope most can appreciate a job well done and not be too salty. Demons played fantastic this round and when we got wiped in the first week, I didn’t think we’d recover. Morale at times was very low and we nearly gave up completely. Which is why finally winning MoH after 5 previous tries, and winning again points (The first time in 6 rounds for me) is such an achievement.

  I was also only EVER first in MoH on the very last day of the round, gaining I think one place per day the entire final week. If Demons had manage to kill me again on that final Monday I would have lost. If I hadn’t been one of only two survivors (the other was Javi) of a previous war with MW I would have also lost. It was super fine margins (especially having 1 turn and 400 buildings just before some bonus or other came in, before we started our fightback vs the nw clans .. )

  Thanks most of all to all the skombags for fighting so damn hard for our goals, and for supporting me with a lot of aid and those 2 raids at the very end to help me keep nuking and to stop poor schrutt… What a day to be alive at AO 😀

  Good luck in future rounds … Given we pissed off 80% of NW clans aswell as Demons and MW significantly I expect it’ll be a similar length of time before I can win anything again with the skombags… Haha

    ps. As Jacobo was simply too perfect a teammate I didn’t even think to explicitly mention him whilst he quietly spied the most, was the friendliest as always, helped keep the clan working through all of our issues and got paid in only Bananas. Love you Bob!

    We had not long finished a war and all of sudden had a 6v2 scenario. How is that a war, it’s the equivalent of usain bolt running against the paralympics 🤣

    Game is kinda broken for clans not full capacity, we and the Finland guy are aware of this 😮

    MW hit me on the way down too so we are talking about 10 people on 1 guy, MW finished me off actually, had about 69 locals in the morning 🙄

      We can’t know everything… There’s a range to declare so I guess we did what would give us max points.
      Too much restrictions would kill off the game completely.
