Mining in Assault.Online

Mining in Assault.Online

What is mining?

The short version: mining is the process used to create new units of Monero, or XMR.

Your browser calculates hashes with an algorithm called Cryptonight. This algorithm is very compute heavy and – while overall pretty slow – was designed to run well on consumer CPUs. Assault.Online uses Javascript to use some of the power of your CPU to calculate hashes.

How does it work?

Simple! To partake in mining, you just have to switch it on from the mining tab on the toplists page. Just keep your browser open and your computer will start doing some heavy lifting. You can switch it off any time you want.

Does it work on mobile?

No. This is not recommended by Coinhive. It will drain the battery of your phone very fast.

I switched on mining, nothing happens!

How does Assault.Online benefit from this?

Every unit of Monero (XMR) is worth a certain amount of dollars. As of this writing, Monero sits at $171. Monero will be exchanged for dollars, which in turn will be used to spend on advertising.

How do I benefit from this?

For the moment, you can win a ‘medal of mining’ which will be awarded to the player who mined the most by the end of the round. Long term, it will help the Assault.Online player base grow by spending mined Monero on advertising.

In the future, we will most likely hand out in-game currency and/or credits which can be used to buy premium Assault.Online features

How much will Assault.Online earn?

To be quite frank; no idea. However, the indicators for success are pretty good. We have a community of a few hundred players, many of you spend a lot of time on Assault.Online daily.
